Independence Day Ride 2017 (Royal Enfield Indore)

It was the morning of 15th August 2017 when The India was Celebrating It’s 71st Independence Day and 70th Independence Anniversary (I wrote both Day and Anniversary so as to Clear the Confusion spread across the nation by a few Dumb Media Personals). The Freedom was felt in the Air with Every Indian Feeling Proud of their Brave Soldier Brothers Protecting their Country and the Freedom Fighters who Fought Hard to see there’s Country’s Future as an Independent Country. So Royal Enfield Indore, like every year on 15 August organised ‘Independence Day Ride 2017’ to Remember the Sacrifice of Indian Soldiers and Freedom Fighters who Fought for The Free Nation we live in Today. This Year the Ride was Scheduled to a Hill Location known as ‘Jam Gate’ which is Located approx. 50Kms from My Hometown Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. The assembly Time was Given 08;00 am and the whole Ride was Scheduled to Depart at 09:00 am. All the Royal Enfield Riders gathered at R.R. Tyreage which is an infamous Royal Enfield Motorcycle Dealer in Indore.

We arrived and met our fellow riders, we were given instructions about –

1. Safe Riding.

2. No useless Honking.

3. The helmet which must be Compulsory to both Driver and Pillion Rider.

4. No Blasting (It’s the blast sound produced by the Exhaust of the motorcycle and is common around these Days).

After the instructions, we all sang Our National Anthem with Joy and Proud and left for our Journey with the Flag Off. We rode throughout the City covering major Squares from LIG, Palasia, Navlakha and Bhavarkua Square. We took a Snaks Break at ‘Mithas Sweets’ at Gopur Choraha to fill our tummies with the Favorite food of Indories – ‘Poha and Kachori’. We moved on with our Rides in the formation of a Single Line of 30 Motorcycles and sometimes in a line of 2. The whole View of so many bikes together was quite scenic for Everyone from wherever we passed. Everyone was either Saluting us all or were capturing our Photographs and Videos, which made us feel Proud to be a Royal Enfield Rider. We rode through CAT rode covering Rau and MHOW (It’s Full form is ‘Military Headquarters Of War’). AFter crossing MHOW we were in the Huge Open fields of the Rural India with Silky Smooth road which made our Riding Experience Fabulous. The Cloud Cover made the weather cool and Pleasing. After a few kilometres, we reached the short Mountain Ranges where the Clouds were almost touching the base of the Hills. It felt as though we were going to ride inside the Clouds. We took a Halt near a Hill to take a Humongous Photograph of all the Riders on their respective Royal Enfields.

As we were Capturing Ourselves in that beautiful View, The Rain came along with the Cold Breeze of Air. We all Switched our Headlights on and Continued our ride to our Destination, The Jam Gate. As we were just a few Kilometers from our Destination, we got surrounded by dense fog which made Visibility to Zero. The view which we saw there was the one which no one among Us ever saw us in their lives. Even the Fellow Riders who came to the same location for 5 to 6 times said that they never saw this kind of Fog cover ever at this place. We were lucky enough to witness that beautiful creation of Nature on our Independence Day.

We all started our Engines and started moving ahead at Snails Speed in that dense fog towards our destination. And there it was, the remnant of The Past from Holkar Era of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. The Jam Gate surviving the Force of Time in the Center of Beautifull Valleys and Hills. All the Riders were High on the Beauty they were Witness just a few Kilometers from our Home remembering the Independence day, The Freedom Fighters and the History which Made Us what we are Today!
